THE POSTCARD KILLERS

A standalone 2010 crime thriller co-authored by bestselling American writer James Patterson and Swedish novelist Liza Marklund.

NYPD detective Jacob Kanon travels across Europe on a personal mission to hunt down a sadistic killer. His obsession began after his own daughter and her partner were brutally murdered while vacationing in Rome.

Young, glamorous couples are being murdered in major European cultural centers (including Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, and Stockholm). The killers grotesquely pose the victims to mimic famous historical works of art found in local museums.

Before each attack, the perpetrators mail a cryptic postcard to a local journalist declaring, “Wish you were here,” dropping clues about the location of their next strike.

Kanon forces his way into foreign investigations and eventually teams up with Dessie Larsson, a Swedish reporter who receives one of the postcards in Stockholm. Together, they race against time to decode the patterns and stop the next murder
